Pulmonary rehabilitation – lung fitness

This type of training is for people who have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) which is the umbrella term for the following conditions:


Chronic Bronchitis

The above conditions can benefit from the correct kind of fitness training, tailored to the individual's needs.

Someone with bronchiectasis and chronic asthma can also benefit from specialists exercise training.

Individuals who have completed pulmonary rehabilitation and feel they need extra guidance can train with Cardiac Pulmonary training. A referral form will need to be filled out by a pulmonary specialist - this may be a doctor, nurse or physiotherapist.

If you have not attended pulmonary rehabilitation and would like to start fitness training specific to your lung condition you can still train with Cardiac Pulmonary Training. A referral form will need to be completed by your GP or pulmonary specialist.

For individuals wishing to take part in Cardiac Pulmonary Training - their health condition must be stable before commencing rehabilitation training.
